FSMLabs Releases TimeKeeper 6.0 with new support for extended timing networks, network administration and resiliency
Newest release is a major step toward enterprise time precision and management
Austin, TX – May 30, 2012 – FSMLabs® today announced the 6.0 release of TimeKeeper™, its groundbreaking time synchronization software for high-frequency trading and other applications requiring extreme time precision. The newest iteration of TimeKeeper addresses expansion of high-precision time synchronization across networks, including cloud and other beyond-the-wall environments. In addition, it now offers a web-based management console, as well as oversight of time performance across network components.
TimeKeeper 6.0 furthers the time network resiliency and expandability introduced last year in version 5.0. The new TimeKeeper Management Console dramatically simplifies the identification and prioritization of primary and failover time sources. In addition, real-time capture of synchronization data across the network enables performance monitoring, as well as post-facto auditing of problems caused by performance issues in network components, including reference clocks, boundary clocks, switches and clients.

Advances in TimeKeeper 6.0 include the following:

In addition to simplifying configuration of multiple time sources for multi-network synchronization and failover resiliency, it also can display network-wide status logs or graphic visualization of time-precision performance.
- Time Network Oversight—real-time capture of synchronization performance and component status information, with optional alerts triggered by comparative time fluctuations outside of user-configured range.
- Time Messaging Interoperability – PTP unicast support plus on-the-fly conversion to and from NTP or other messaging formats, for multi-hop networks.
- Time Network Hardware Adaptability—improved integration with GPS and IRIG time-enabled network bus cards.
TimeKeeper typically distributes and synchronizes time in the low-digit or sub-microsecond range of precision, with performance continuing to improve with advances in networking components. TimeKeeper is designed to optimize the performance of existing infrastructure and to take advantage of new equipment as it comes on line.
